BRONZE HEAD I

This piece was presented to Cllr. Noel Lennon on behalf of Dundalk U.D.C. by the Mayor of Rezé on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the twinning of the towns of Rezé and Dundalk.  This cast is a copy of the bust discovered in July 1863 on the site of the present church in Rezé, Loire Atlantique, France. The original dates from the first half of the 2nd century A.D. lt is currently housed in the Musée Dobrée, Nantes, France. Jacques Raoult studied in Paris under renowned sculptors. He has worked on many public commissions in the western region of France and his smaller pieces are held in several public and private collections. He lives and works in France.
