A Midsummer Exhibition
I’m a visual artist and I have always been curious about the the natural world. In my early years as a painter I studied scientific illustration. Over time, my works have evolved, embracing many types of paint media and working more with spontaneous line and colour, seeking my own expression rather than immitation of nature, which continues to inform all the art I create.
A Midsummer Exhibition is a celebration of connection, beauty and harmony which I find in the natural world. These works are a continuation of my conversations with nature.
The body of work includes early botanical and architectural watercolour illustrations to current large intuitive oil paintings, spontaneous ink drawings, pencil drawings, monotype prints and fibre art of wool and silk thread.
