FMC are delighted to add new part-time staff to our core staff, following an increase in funding from the Arts Council of Ireland, one of whom has joined us already.
David Wilkinson joins us as Information and Regional Development officer. David joins us from IMRO and will be responsible for building out and updating our factsheets and band tips section for Artists, he will also join our CEO Angela in providing free consultancy and mentor sessions to artists and will help write and deliver FMC's Regional Development Strategy. We are thrilled to welcome David and know we are very lucky to have someone of his calibre join the team.
A recent VIP-Booking.com podcast examined the impact and importance of modern music business events and shares some in-depth knowledge from Alexander Schulz of Reeperbahn Festival and Helen Sildna of Tallinn Music Week.
The podcast also featured booking agent Alex Bruford of ATC Live speaking on how essential these kind of events have been for discovering and nurturing the acts on his roster, and FMC CEOAngela Dorgan on how the Music From Ireland brand was established and how she uses networking & showcasing events to help launch the careers of many new Irish artists.
We are delighted to announce the dates for Ireland Music Week! The event will take place between the 5th-8th of October 2021. We will be opening artist applications very soon! Keep an eye out for further information.

STRANGE BOY - THE POPE
In the coming weeks we will be rebuilding and relaunching a new look Breakingtunes.com. We will be adding new features to the website to benefit artists and also the general music ecosystem.
If you are signed up to the site please keep an eye out for an instructional email from a Breaking Tunes admin so you we can keep you abreast of changes and actions we require from you.
THE GREAT ESCAPE - MAY 12th - 15th.
We were delighted to be in the Olympia Theatre in Dublin earlier this month to film performances with the artist's selected by The Great Escape to showcase at this year's online edition of the event in May. Keep an eye on our social media, we'll have more news on that soon.
