McNally’s first pupils and many of the members of our orchestra are also past pupils of Fr. McNally. It is a real privilege for us to have Rita and Proinnsías perform with the Father McNally Chamber Orchestra which was established in Fr. McNally’s honour. Proinnsías ó Duinn, has personally arranged and orchestrated the music for the second half of our concert which includes audience favourites such as Cavalleria Rusticana and Barber’s ‘Adagio for Strings’, Briege added.
The orchestra has been busily rehearsing in the Department of Music and Creative Media at Dundalk Institute of Technology where the Father McNally Chamber Orchestra has been ‘Orchestra in Residence’ since May 2011.
