Sofia Sandström-Phelan was born in Sweden and moved to Ireland in 1997. She draws from what she describes as an “idyllic” childhood in Sweden and her experiences since that time to make her work. She has been instrumental in setting up art groups and tutoring local children in her local community of Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.
