The plaque beneath the work reads: In Loving Memory of Jack Rooney, Fireman/Driver, aged 61, Hugh Watters, Tailor, Aged 60, who lost their lives as a result of the bombing at Kay’s Tavern, Crowe Street, Dundalk, on 19th December, 1975. Their families will forever strive for truth and justice.
Biographical Information:
Leo Higgins was born in Dublin in 1951 and Colm Brennan was born in Belmullet, Co. Mayo in 1943. Co-founders of The Sculptors Society of Ireland (Now Visual Artists Ireland), they set up the Cast Ltd. Bronze foundry in Dublin in 1987.
