Music Generation Louth has established a very successful string orchestra programme for children and young people that has expanded to cater for three levels of young string players – Senior Strings, Junior Strings and First Strings. Under the direction of Jayne Graham, the programme provides members with high quality training as orchestral string players and is a fantastic way for young players to meet other musicians their own age, develop their musical skills, and learn to play as part of a larger group. A range of public performances take place throughout the year.
This year, Junior Strings will rehearse (10-11.30am) and First Strings (11.45-12.30pm) each Saturday during school term time at Coláiste Chú Chulainn, Marshes Lower, Dundalk. View on Google Maps
Senior Strings will rehearse monthly on Sunday afternoons (12.45-4pm) at Music Generation Louth’s new music hub at Louth Meath Education and Training Board, Chapel St, Dundalk. View on Google Maps
