Latest News // PJ Gallagher’s Friday night show is now completely sold out, and tickets are also flying out the door for his Thursday night show. Also, there is only a handful of tickets left for Declan O’Rourke’s Saturday night show, and they wont last until stage time, so get them now while you can.

Following the huge success of his role as Jake Stevens and many others in the hilarious TV show Naked Camera, PJ rarely has time to be himself these days as he prepares for yet another TV series based in the USA. .PJ is a Vicar Street , Cat Laughs and Electric Picnic regular .With appearances on The Late Late Show, The Miriam O Callaghan Show and Tubridy Tonight, you can expect to see a lot more of this brilliant young comic.

In 2004, Declan released his debut album, Since Kyabram. ‘Galileo’, the debut single from Since Kyabram, has been covered by Josh Groban and performed by Paul Weller. Declan performed ‘Galileo’ at the opening ceremony of the Solheim Cup 2011. MAG PAI ZAI, managed to top the success of Declan’s first two albums, holding its own in the top 10 for four consecutive weeks. ‘A Little Something,’ the album’s debut single, received much airplay, climbing to the no. 2 spot in the Today FM Top 40.

Thu 5th Songwriter Night with Finnian Kelleher, Monica Heldal, Eugene OHanlon, Brian Sewell, Conor Boyle, Keenan Copus €5 Showcasing the depth of songwriting talent in the area with a night of stripped down guitar and voice arrangements. All of these artists have played here at one time or another as support acts or have done shows downstairs in “The Kitchen”.

Dundalk based Drum and bass outfit Rastachaun explore all thinks breakbeat downstairs once a month. An excellent mix of breakbeat, dubstep, hip-hop and funk .Rastachaun residents : Covert, Skinny, Skelly, Rabhadh.

With a mix of soaring vocals and aggressive rap, I’d Fight Gandhi are an exciting rock band from Dundalk , Ireland and a force to be reckoned with. Their influences include Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Metallica, Stuck Mojo, Tool and Deftones.

The Kanyu Tree are three brothers from Galway in search of the perfect pop song. They played The Sea Sessions,Electric Picnic and Oxegen last year .The band released their dedut album “People Street” in Sept 2011 and toured the country,selling out Whelans. The band then supported The Coronas for their entire December tour.

2minutes2midnight have blended influences as diverse as Oasis, Kasabian, Megadeth, The Beatles, Guns n’ Roses and Led Zeppelin to their own mix of classic style but yet modern sound. Since their formation the lads showed a swagger and confidence in both the style and deliverance of music on stage and recorded.

Belfast based Parachutes Over Paris began their onslaught on the scene in early 2011. With their ever so catchy riffs, edgy dual male/female vocals and toe-tap taping indie/pop, they have already received airplay on radio including BBC Radio One ,Phantom FM and have been tipped by BBC Across the Line as ones to watch in 2012.

Thu 3rd May The Bogey Boys Tickets €12

Legendary Irish rock band The Bogey Boys have reformed and are playing selected dates around Ireland in 2012. The Band was originally formed in Dublin in the Late Seventies. They immediately developed a reputation for being a blistering live act and toured and recorded constantly in the Eighties. They toured with acts lik Dr.Feelgood,Wilko Johnson, Rory Gallagher,Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and The Kinks.

Fri 4th May Dave Young Tickets €15

His fans range from Billy Connolly to Joan Rivers. His new action packed “No Cutbacks” tour confirms his reputation as a truly original comedian .America Today called him “Thrilling to watch” and the Irish Independent “Flat out hilarious”. He got his start as the werm up for the Late Late Show and Saturday Night Live.

Bobby has been packing them in for some time here now with his renditions of classic and obscure songs from his favourite artists. Expect a party atmosphere , a few wisecracks and a few new numbers from the local troubador.
