Whitaker Theatre, DkIT, Dublin Road, Dundalk – 19 March – Ferdia Mac Anna launches the book No Bother, a collection created by writers as part of the creative writing workshops he facilitates in DkIT. The launch, the culmination and celebration of five months’ creative endeavour by Ferdia and the writers, takes place in the Whitaker Theatre at 6pm on 19th March.
Ferdia Mac Anna was appointed as DkIT’s first ever Writer-in-Residence in November 2012, and commenced on a series of creative writing workshops open to everyone, DkIT students, staff and members of the public alike. Ferdia says of the creative writing workshops: “We expected that we would have a class of around twelve or thirteen people. By the end of November over forty people had enrolled. We had to split the workshops across two days to accommodate everyone. It was an exhilarating rollercoaster ride as well as a truly stimulating and creative experience. It was also quite brilliant fun.”
No Bother was the result. Come along to the launch to hear some seriously talented new writers read from their work. No Bother will be on sale and all proceeds fund the upcoming Dundalk Book Festival.
The book, which costs €10, will also be available from local booksellers, for Kindle and on CreateSpace, an Amazon print-on-demand service.
