Music Round The Square

Friday Lunchtime Concerts at The Market Square Dundalk

Beginning on, Friday the 27th. July and running every Friday through to the 24th August, at 1.00.pm.

Music Round the Square, is a series of Friday Lunchtime Concerts taking place at The Market Square, featuring some of Dundalk’s finest young musicians and ensembles.

A space to chill at lunchtime, has been created in the heart of Dundalk and it’s free, a perfect opportunity to relax and gather with friends and enjoy 40 minutes of live music, a great curtain raiser for your weekend, with the musicians providing the soundtrack to your lunchtime conversation and craic.

 Grab a bite from one of the great   local cafes , pack a picnic , or bring your lunch and head for The Square and enjoy a musical kaleidoscope of Pop/ Rock, Traditional / and Light Classical, music to cheer up your summer.

Singer Songwriter, Keenan Copas will start the season on Friday the 27th July, Keenan recently released his first EP to great acclaim, he has been compared to artists such as Paolo Nutini, Jack Johnson, and Matt Corby, his music could be described as a fusion of the best elements of the past 40 years.

The season will include concerts by Tara and Sadhbh Moran, violin and flute duo Tara and Sadhbh are renowned for their outstanding lyrical playing, they   will celebrate summer with some of the best loved popular classical tunes.

The Magic Flutes, this vibrant new ensemble, all pupils of  music teacher Clare Wallace, will enthral with their unique and sparkling arrangements of  musical gems by Vivaldi, Handel, and other well known composers ,

Ceoltóiri Lú, are curated by the producers of the renowned St. Patricks Eve Concert,  this stellar line up consists of the cream of young Dundalk traditional musicians and promise  a rousing celebration of trad music.

All concerts start at 1.00.pm every Friday, beginning on Friday the 27th July, and the final concert in the series will take place on Friday the 24th August.
