Beautiful Romanian soprano, Gabriela Istoc, will sing at Anaverna at 8 pm on Wednesday 3 February.
Accompanying Gabriela will be by John Finucane, principal clarinet with the National Symphony Orchestra,
and pianist Dearbhla Collins.
Gabriela is studying at the Royal Academy of Music in Dublin. In October she won a major prize and
scholarship in Italyand, this week, she is competing in the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition
in Dublin
The programme will include arias by Puccini and Mozart as well as Schubert’s miniature
dramatic cantata, The Shepherd on the Rock. (I heard Gabriela sing the latter in December. Its a gem)
