Commission Brief – Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) 2018 County Louth
The latest search to find Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) is currently underway. The initiative is co-ordinated by all 31 Local Enterprise Offices involves a nationwide competition across three categories at county level: Best Idea, Best Start-Up Business and Best Established Business.
With a €2million investment fund available, including a €50,000 investment fund for County Louth winners, the enterprise initiative from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Enterprise Ireland hopes to assist young entrepreneurs through training, mentoring and direct financial assistance. Local Enterprise Office Louth will run a County Competition with an awards ceremony on Thursday, December 14th in Castlebellingham, where the following awards will be presented:
- Best Idea Winner and runner up (2)
- Start-up Winner and runner up (2)
- Established Winner and runner up (2)

Local Enterprise Office Louth wishes to commission an artist or designer-maker to create 7 awards /trophies (6 sectoral awards plus one overall winner) to be given to the winners at a ceremony on December 14th 2017.
Materials to be considered will be ceramic, metal, wood, glass, stone, paper and/or textile, and the final works will need to be of a permanent nature (textiles will be expected to be durable for 5 years). The work should be designed with minimal ongoing maintenance requirements and should be domestic in scale.
The work or works should reflect the nature of the awards in celebrating young entrepreneurship in Co. Louth. Work should be imaginative, lively and have excellent production values.
The Artist (s) or Designer-Maker (s)
We are looking for experienced artists or crafts makers with experience of working to an appropriate scale and profile, and able to keep within schedules and budgets.
Commissioned artists/makers will also need to be able to source and budget accurately for fabrication, packaging and delivery costs.

Please provide a budget breakdown for completion of this commission, to include all artist time, expenses, design, fabrication and delivery costs. Approx. budget available is €1500-€1800 exclusive of VAT
