The final tour of our Autumn season takes place this month with two dazzling virtuosi Anneleen Lenaerts, Principal Harpist of the Vienna Philharmonic and rising star Dionysis Grammenos on clarinet. The duo will perform works from the Romantic era by Schumann, Schubert, Smetana, Verdi and a new commission by Anne-Marie O’Farrell.
Later in November is the premiere of a newly-commissioned work for large-scale harp ensemble by the celebrated Irish composer Philip Martin. In celebration of Music Network’s 30th anniversary year, this event is designed to acknowledge the richness of contemporary harp practice in Ireland.
The season ends with two very special concerts showcasing the otherworldly sounds of vocal ensemble Trio Mediæval and trumpeter Arve Henriksen. Prepare to be bewitched by the meditative and exquisitely beautiful soundscape of this cross-genre collaboration in a programme of Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish hymns, chants and folk songs.
Finally, we are delighted once again to be partnering with Listen At for their monthly night of music and spoken word on the third Saturday of every month in Dublin.
