Bridge St. Studios 15th Anniversary

by admin / Wednesday, 14 December 2011 / Published in Visual Arts, News, Dundalk Town Council

Bridge Street Studios is celebrating its 15th anniversary as a leading artist studio in the North Eastern area.  To mark this occasion the artists are exhibiting in the Blackbird Gallery, Kilkenny for the month of January, opening on December 30th.

Currently the Studio is home to nine artists; Fiona Thornton (jewellery), Sarah McKenna (ceramics), Mary Cowan (ceramics), Rachel Tinniswood (textile art), Michele Haechler (painting and mixed media), Orla Barry (painting), John O’Connor (painting), Mary Martin (painting) and Fiona Quigley (painting and textiles).

The artists have chosen ‘Bridges’ as the theme for the forthcoming exhibition. Drawing inspiration from the poem Bridge for the Living by Philip Larkin, each artist will produce three new works in their individual discipline.
